Fussy bumbles

The Latin name for my bumblebees is Bombus impatiens, and when they’re foraging on raspberry flowers, they really earn their name.

Raspberries get a second wind

The raspberries I planted last year are taking off this year. They’re Heritage raspberries, which can be ever-bearing or fall-bearing depending on how you prune them. I voted for ever-bearing.

Look at this! It’s after Columbus Day, and it’s still hoping. Too bad. I pinched the flower off so the plant will [...]

Last Fruits?

The fall-bearing raspberries I planted this spring are actually bearing fruit already. In fall. Lots of them. Nom, nom, nom.
